01The short version
Comeby is free and has no ads. We collect only what is needed to run invites, we never sell data, and guests' contact details are deleted automatically after events. The code is open source, so anyone can check this.
02What hosts give us
To create an account you give us your name, email and a password (stored as a secure hash), or you sign in with Google. You create events with details you choose, such as a title, time, place and an optional cover image.
03What guests give us
Guests don't need an account. When you respond to an invite you give your name and, if the host asks, your phone number. A message, answers to the host's questions and an email for updates are optional. Your phone number, email and message are only visible to the host. Other guests only see names if the host chose to show who's going.
04How we use it
Only to run Comeby: showing invites, collecting responses, notifying hosts, emailing guests who asked for updates, preventing spam and abuse, and keeping the service secure. We never use your data for advertising and never sell or share it with advertisers.
05How long we keep it
Guests' phone numbers and emails are deleted automatically 90 days after an event ends. Hosts can delete events, responses or their whole account at any time, which deletes the related data. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.
06Cookies
We use a few essential cookies: one to keep hosts signed in, one per invite so your browser remembers your own response, and one random ID used only to stop spam. No advertising or tracking cookies. If analytics is enabled it is privacy-friendly and cookie-less.
07Who processes data for us
Comeby runs on servers we control. We use an email provider to send emails, Cloudflare for security and to store cover images, and optionally Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. They only process data to provide these services.
08Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data. Hosts can do most of this from Settings and the event dashboard. Guests can change their response using the private link in their confirmation email, or ask the host. For anything else, contact us and we'll help.
09Children
Comeby is for people aged 13 and over (16 and over where local law requires it).
10Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell hosts by email.
